Students are placed in our classes on the basis of an initial interview in English and a grammar placement test. During their courses they will have a weekly class test.
On the basis of their performance in these tests together with continuous assessment, students may progress through the various class levels.
Students may request an end of course test to see their overall progress or may take an external, internationally recognised exam if they are staying in Ireland more than four weeks.

Giulia is an Italian student who came to Alpha College as part of a group on an English & Work Experience Programme. After she studied at Alpha for three weeks to improve her level of English, she did a work experience placement in an Irish Art Gallery: Urban Retreat Gallery. The exhibition, "A View of Tuscany", was held on 17th April in the presence of some prominent figures of the Italian community in Dublin as well as artists and journalists. Giulia was even interviewed by the Dublin Italian newspaper Periodico Degli Italiani e Amici Dell'Italia en Irlanda and her interview will be published in June.
