The objective of this week is to familiarise students with the language needed to discuss aspects of a range of professions for example, but not limited to, teachers, accountants, doctors, marketing personnel, chefs.
Students will take a short on-line occupational interests inventory which will generate a list of jobs or professions in which they are interested. Using this as a basis students will learn the language and structures needed to discuss the personality needed for various professions, the qualifications needed, the type of work involved.
All the areas of language learning will be covered but there will be more focus on listening and speaking than on reading and writing. Classes will include some project work to be done in pairs or small groups and presented on their last morning in class.
Teacher-led walking tour in city centre on the first afternoon included.
All Alpha teachers will be University graduates with a post graduate qualification in ELT. The teachers directing this programme will also have had experience in the world of work outside of language teaching[/vc_column][vc_column width=”1/3″]
